„Ethiopia?!?“ was the first thing that came to my mind when I got my assignment for the SAP Social Sabbatical confirmed. That was more than seven months ago – and now I’m off to Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa.
The SAP Social Sabbatical Project is sending altogether 11 SAP employees from offices all over the world to Ethiopia with the mission to support local companies with their knowledge and expertise. It’s a diverse group with colleagues from Australia, China, India, Germany, Mexico, France & Canada that will arrive today here in Ethiopia.
During the next four weeks we will split up in smaller groups to cover four different local projects in total. The project scopes differentiate from marketing concepts over IT implementation up to process optimization. In close cooperation with the local companies we want to create a long lasting impact on the challenges they face and hopefully leave happy customers behind.
In this blog I do not only want to share updates on my sabbatical project (although that will definitely be a big part). Moreover, I also want to write down my impressions about living in Ethiopia, the people I will meet here and the experiences I will make.
I hope you enjoy reading this blog and feel free to leave your comments, questions and feedback!
